The Sketchbook Project-Stuck Inside

sketchbook home

This week I bound my little book for “The Sketchbook Project”. Here are the little watercolours I made in the right order of my little handbound book. It will be sent today and will stay in “Brooklyn Art Library” in NY with many other little books to be viewed by the public. It was very fun and I am pleased that I was given this project by my really nice friend, Leah. I hope one day to go and check it out myself.

DAILY DOGS

When the world shut down, I was painting interiors. But then, I started thinking about how I don’t have a dog and how much I love dogs. I thought of all the lucky dogs who have their people at home for a little while.  I thought of essential workers who have to go into work and how they must feel when they come home to their four legged companions. I thought of dogs getting nice long walks in their neighbourhoods and people having time for them. I thought wouldn’t it be kind of fun to surprise some people I know by posting pictures on social media of their dogs and give them a little joy. Some people even gave me some requests!  So with all these thoughts, I painted quite a few dogs for people to enjoy.sketch-1586877583364

Stuck Inside

Because of the Corona Virus, I decided to paint interiors of my house. I am up to 5 realizing that I actually have more time to paint than ever before. These are watercolours and though I have run out of ultramarine blue I am making do with what I have.

The whole thing is not so hard for me being an artist type and slightly introverted person. I find the time passes quickly anyway because I can always find something to do whether it be cooking, baking, household chores, playing games with the kids, reading, watching shows or painting.

I hope you enjoy this series even though for fun I might paint some dogs. I love them and people have been sharing their furry friends online and I like them. Having a dog right now would be so wonderful. I wish I had one.

I totally hope that I get to blog more often during this time but I do hope life can be back to normal soon. In the meantime I will make the most of it and do the things I love.
